Thanks to all of you who showed up at Blue Monk a couple of weeks ago. Since I'm moving to our wicked new appartment soon and all the noisemaking boxes and shit is being packed as we speak I thought we should get our rehearsal tracks out the door. At least some news. Badass&Sinnatagg will be entertaining at the Blue Monk club the coming friday 18/3/2005. We don't know more than you people. Possibly we'll start playing at 21.00 hours. Two angry people, a sampler, a fuzzbox and a room full of ringing ears. Free entrance, reasonably priced beer and complementary hearing aids for the first victims ... erhm I mean guests to show up. 40 minutes of mostly new and brutal shit. Info here. See you all! New tracks down below. Be sure to listen to Dr. Sinnataggs distorted breakbeat opus "Untitled in Gm". It's the first one, the action starts about 13 minutes in. We didn't get to finish these tracks so they're not mastered or anything like that. Besides Dr. Sinnatagg does all his mastering with his favourite 4 band distortion device these days so maybe it's for the best. They do sound good though but we'll probably won't bother to finish them so here they are at the bottom of the page. Badass&Sinnatagg will be playing the Elektrolytt festival in Oslo at Blå. 21.00 on friday 25/7, see you all there. We have an all new set. The tracks will be here shortly afterwards. Since the students have gone for christmas and left us with the keys to their radiostation we figured we'll grab this opportunity to play some rhytmic noise/industrial techno for the listeners here in Oslo. Dj Sinnatagg will play two appr. 2 hour sets featuring all the usual suspects. We'll bring an assortment of fuzzboxes and the laptop to the studio.New shit! Ok, this needs an explanation.
We put these together mostly as an improvised remix set of a lot of unreleased stuff that was laying around. They were played live (no really!) with our newly acquired sampler software as a set of triggered rhytmic scenes with some stuff played on the keyboard and a lot of knob twiddling. All thrown through my favourite fuzzy box. These are the rehearsal tracks we recorded the day before the gig in case all this fancy technology should fail us utterly and we would have to improvise some sort of dj set or something.
Thankfully this didn't happen and we all had a good time. Not only on friday but on saturday too.
So most of these are played live without any editing, arranging, producing, mastering or any of those things that goes into making those really fancy and robotic tracks you all hear on fex. mpetre. Lots of mistakes too and long wobbling things at the end for our dj'ing convenience. I would really like to make proper tracks out of these but Roger forgot my hidiously expensive AKG cans at Blue Monk (he lost his own at Blå) and a lot of other stuff. And as you probably have guessed I blew every tweeter in the house years ago so I need those cans. So this has to wait till the summer. So for now it's what you hear is what is there and bring your own mastering or whatever it is.
